Episode 11 - Adrik's Folly

Where we last left off, our intrepid party found a Chapel of Rigga, the Earthmother outside Adrik’s Folly to rest with the centaurs and Rybalka villagers rescued from the drow.   Settling in, one of the centaurs clopped into the chapel with a dagger at his throat.  A woman indicated to the party to release the prisoners.

After determining that the group wasn’t with the drow, the woman Alexandra Galekin, a cleric to Rigga the Earthmother, indicated her husband, Kevin, had been captured and being held in Adrik’s Folly along with other villagers captured by the drow.  She implored the group to help rescue Kevin and the other prisoners. 

Agreeing, she provided the party with several healing potions, the blessings of Rigga, and also a one-time use of a teleportation scroll, where the circle is in the Chapel of Rigga.  The spell takes 1 minute to cast and will stay open for 60 seconds, or 10 rounds.  She also warned restless spirits haunted the castle.  In addition, she provided some background about the former ruler, Adrik Holmir, who, growing ever more paranoid in his rule, commissioned a secret exit out of the castle in the event of an invasion.  To further hide the entrance, it was rumored that Adrik had the masons killed and then the assassins killed to ensure it remained a secret.  However, it proved folly, as a lone assassin used it to sneak in, assassinate Adrik, and cause the castle's downfall ten years ago.  

As the group settled in, your dreams were plagued by something sinister stalking you in the woods. 

The following day, within the chapel in the basement, was a fresh well.  Using Wynter's wild shape-changing abilities, she transformed into an octopus to explore the well with Fatisamo.  To the east, she found an underground man-made structure about 50 feet from the chapel. 

Exploring behind the chapel was a graveyard with an ‘X’ on a tombstone.  Discovering the secret entrance to the castle, they entered a small tomb to find undead mason workers inside.  Freeing them of their undead existence, the party followed the half-mile tunnel to the secret entrance into Adrik’s Folly.
